EASY SOLUTIONS EXPANDS TO ASIA PACIFIC
The Company Expands Reach of Omni-Channel Anti-Fraud Platform, Total Fraud Protection with New Office in Tokyo
Tokyo, JAPAN – October 15, 2014 – Easy Solutions, the Total Fraud Protection® company, today announced that it has opened a new office in the Asia Pacific region, located in Tokyo, Japan. Masafumi Hatakeyama, a security veteran who has held leadership positions with Symantec, VeriSign and Hitachi Consulting has been brought on to spearhead Easy Solutions’ presence in the country. This milestone marks the first step towards making Total Fraud Protection available to all financial institutions and enterprises in Asia Pacific.
In a recent report, the analyst firm Markets & Markets found that the fraud prevention and detection market in APAC market is expected to grow at a rate of 25 percent, year over year from 2014 to 2018. As one of the fastest growing regions in the world, the demand for integrated, end-to-end anti-fraud solutions are at an all-time high.
“Our research team has seen an increasing amount of activity in the APAC region, and particularly in Japan, where financial institutions are becoming major targets for criminal organizations,” said Ricardo Villadiego, CEO for Easy Solutions. “The APAC region represents an important front in the war against online fraud, and we will continue to invest in the area. Opening this office in Tokyo represents an important step in supporting our global expansion plans, and we are thrilled that Mr. Hatakeyama will be leading our efforts in the country.”
Hatakeyama brings a decade of security and technology leadership experience to Easy Solutions. For the past three years, Hatakeyama served in a variety of management positions for Symantec and VeriSign, two of the world’s leading security software companies. Hatakeyama worked for Hitachi Consulting, as a consultant for the financial services sector, specializing in system development and IT governance. Hatakeyama earned his B.S in Physics from Nagoya University and his MBA from Globis.
“Up until recently, language barriers protected APAC countries such as Japan, China and Korea from many of the well-publicized targeted attacks that have plagued U.S. and European companies, but that is no longer the case,” said Masafumi Hatakeyama, Business Development Manager for Easy Solutions. “Recently in Japan, we have been experiencing a proliferation of attacks, such as the Snifula banking trojan, which specifically targeted Japanese financial institutions. In addition, we are seeing a variety of highly sophisticated phishing attacks and Man-In-The-Browser drive-by downloads aimed at banks. I’m excited to join Easy Solutions at this critical time, and help the company expand its presence in this growing market.”
